The Magnificent Mother

This jumbo-sized card effect is very easy-to-do, intriguing, and presents a great lesson for Mother’s Day.

7 cards are shown. 6 cards have the same iconic picture of a woman on them. The 7th card is a list of character traits taken from scripture about a mother. When the 7th card is individually paired with each of the 6 iconic cards, the iconic pictures change to letters. Cards are shown back and front during the change. The effect ends with all 6 cards having changed to cards which now spell MOTHER.

The lesson covers the character traits of a good mother, as well as emphasizing the need for showing her appreciation. This lesson also takes into consideration that many children in the class may come from bad home situations or be living with a grandparent or guardian and skillfully applies the lesson to their situation as well.
